                          ASSESSMENT OF COSTS - REASONS

FRANÇOIS PILON

Assessment Officer

On March 20, 2002, the Court allowed the applicant's motion for default judgment, with costs. On April 2, 2002, Lyne Lasalle filed the applicant's bill of costs and asked that it be assessed without personal appearance of the parties. Given the absence of written representations by the respondent within the period specified by the Registry, we will assess the bill of costs of Her Majesty.

[2]    In regards to assessable services, Marieke Bouchard has claimed the following items:

Item 1             5 Units

Item 4                    3 Units

Item 25            1 Unit

Item 26            4 Units

Those claims seem reasonable to me in the circumstances and will be allowed.

[3]     The disbursements to be assessed were established by the affidavit in support of the bill of costs and are allowed in the amount of $188.52. The applicant's costs are assessed and allowed in the amount of $1,668.52$. A certificate for that amount will be issued by the assessment officer.
